The colon is the main part of the digestive system and the health of your colon affects the health of almost every other part of your body. When your colon is not functioning as well as it should be the build up of toxins can affect the rest of your body. This can lead to such things as diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, headache, poor skin, and muscle and joint aches. This is why it is so vital that you keep your colon clean.
Some people like to use home recipes to clean the colon. This can be a cheap alternative to commercial colon cleansers and ensures you have control over what you consume. At the end of this article I provide an example of a home recipes colon cleansing. First however, let me share with you some ways you can begin to build your own home recipes colon cleansing.
Ingredients of a Colon Cleansing Diet
A colon cleanse diet is basically a diet that you follow which will help you to cleanse your colon. There are many different variations of a colon cleansing diet but there are a few basic ingredients that you are always going to want to include. These ingredients are the beginning for creating home recipes for colon cleansing.
Fiber is one of the most important things to include in any colon cleanse diet. Fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals all contain high amounts of fiber. Flax seed and oats top the list of foods that are highest in both soluble and insoluble fiber. Other foods you may want to consider here are rice, barley, cabbage, beets, carrots, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower.
Psyllium husk powder is a natural product that is found in many home recipes colon cleansing and commercial products. It is an excellent source of dietary fiber. Psyllium also helps lower cholesterol levels.
Bentonite is a type of easy absorbable clay and it will effectively clean the toxins out and help aid the elimination process.
Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar are two ingredients that should be a part of any colon cleanse recipe. Their alkalinity helps draw out the toxins from the bowels and kick starts the elimination of built-up fecal matter. Be sure that if you use apple cider vinegar that it is the unfiltered, raw version because it will have the special enzymes your colon needs to help in the cleansing process.
Water is also very important to include in your colon cleanse diet. Not only because it will help to flush the colon of toxins, but because it is necessary when you are increasing your intake of fiber. Otherwise you may end up constipated.
Are home recipes better than Commercial Products?
Home recipes are a cheap way to clean your colon. However, a program made of home recipes can also be more difficult to follow because you must take the time to select and purchase the right foods, and then make the meals that include the right ingredients. Also, many of the foods that are included in home made recipes are also found in the herbal ingredients of the commercial products, such as Colonix and The 7 Day Miracle Cleanse. These products can be a convenient alternative to home made colon cleansers. Home recipes are generally not as effective as oxy-based cleansers, such as Oxy-Powder.
